Our sole purpose? To do whatever is necessary or conducive to improve the quality of life of blind South Africans so that they in turn may play their full part in the socio-economic life of the country.

Although the majority of its members and of its management are blind people, Blind SA is not merely "an organisation of the Blind". We insist on self-representation and work and speak from the viewpoint of blind people.

Helen Keller once said, "Knowledge is love and light and vision."

We here at Blind SA understand the trials that blind people undergo every day in daily life. It is therefore a great privilege for us to educate and better the lives of our fellow citizens, and also to inform those with perfect vision about things they have to bear in mind when meeting a blind person!
