1. Important notice to all prospective bursary applicants

The Committee for Student Affairs would like to inform all prospective applicants for Blind SA Study and Training Bursaries that our policy regarding the allocation of bursaries has changed.

Due to changing circumstances and many internal and external factors, bursaries will in future only be available to persons who are members of one of Blind SA's affiliates.

If you are not yet a member of Blind SA, you are thus requested to complete the enclosed membership application form.

For any enquiries regarding membership please contact Mrs Sanette Jordaan at (011) 839-1793 or via e-mail at sanette@blindsa.org.za.

Vir enige navrae in verband met lidmaatskap kontak Me. Sanette Jordaan gedurende kantoorure by (011) 839-1793 of per e-pos by sanette@blindsa.org.za.

2. Bursaries are available to all visually impaired persons and the sighted children of visually impaired parents who are members of an affiliate of Blind SA.

4. Bursaries will be considered on merit for the obtaining of post graduate and/or additional qualifications.

5. The minimum requirement to qualify for a study bursary is Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.

6. Part-time students can also apply for a bursary.

8. A bursary holder who is not promoted to the next academic year must submit a written motivation for the continuation of his bursary.

9. The Committee for Student Affairs should be notified in writing of any changes to study course, study institution or extension of study periods. Students who do not comply with this requirement, may be held responsible for the full repayment in respect of all monies paid out to them by Blind SA for the respective year.

10. If, for any reason, a student discontinues his/her studies, he/she may be held responsible for the full repayment of all monies awarded to him/her by Blind SA for the respective year.
